News Update

Last weekend SPJ DePaul was recognized as an official chapter by the national board of the Society of Professional Journalists.  This is great news for us, as we are now able to receive funding for our events, which will help us defray our expenses. More importantly, members have access to SPJ’s job bank, discounts on various services, all of which are listed on their website. DePaul SPJ is in Region 5, our recognition and officers received a mention in their blog.

Now that we are official the DePaul SPJ chapter needs a slogan! Help us come up with something catchy to be used on our t-shirts and promotional materials. We are looking for catchy, with funny being an added bonus.  The slogan will be used to represent us to members of the DePaul and journalism communities, and should reflect both these aspects of our organization.  Deadline is May 7th, with a limit of two submissions per person. Open to members only.  Submissions should be e-mailed to spjdepaulsecretary@gmail.com.

The winner will receive a $25 iTunes gift card.
